No Parents Allowed!

Grandma had this crazy idea to have a Halloween party and not invite the parents, Lucky parents, Lucky Kids! The grand kids had a great time pinning the tail on the cat, costume parade, making ghost, and eating hot dog mummies, and dirt dessert with worms.

It's a Mummy!

Watch out world, a Mummy has risen! Cade wanted to be a Mummy for Halloween, not the easiest costume to create. It took about an hour to untangle the cloth and wrap him. I have to say he turned out looking very mummified!

Aaron and His Halloween Costume!

This year grandma decided to get all the grand kids together for a fun filled Halloween party. Aaron's first reaction to his Halloween costume was not exactly what we had hoped for. He was terrified, to say it mildly. He screamed and cried and tried to tear it off. However, after I sat in the chair and rocked him for a few minutes he finally relaxed. At the end of the evening when I went to take the costume off he cried again, because he did not want it off. You just have to love two year olds.

Playing With the Family!

Cade is currently learning about place value in school. To help reinforce his learning I brought home a fun place value game that my students play. Aaron was determined to be included so we gave him the job of cleaning the boards after every turn. He did a great job!

After working so hard Aaron finally decided he was exhausted. Night, night Aaron. He doesn't seem to care where he sleeps, just as long as he has a soft blanket to lay on.

Chew Chew

Chew Chew Aaron says as he drives his train along the track. The other day I spent about an hour looking for all the missing train pieces and putting together the train track for Aaron to play with. The following day, Craig was home and he heard Aaron playing around in his bedroom. When Craig went to check on Aaron he found that Aaron had meticulously put his entire train track and trains back in the drawer were they belong. I am all about a clean house, but can't we play for at least one day Aaron?

About a week later I was determined to put the train track up once again. So far he has managed to leave it out. Aaron loves to sit on the table and push the trains over the bridge and under the tunnel, all while saying chew chew.

Crazy Sleeper

Cade has always been a crazy sleeper. Everynight before we go to bed, we check on our children. Each night when we enter Cade's bedroom we never know what we will find. Tonight Cade was determined to wear his new hoodie that Grandma Donna gave him for his birthday. It amazes us how he can sleep with all his blankets, pillows and stuffed animals all crowded together in one bed.

Goodbye Suzie

It seams like only yesterday when I walked into a pet store and could not leave with out our little suzie. Only 300 dollars, I argued with Craig, and she was just so cute. She was the baby that I desperately wanted. She never really filled the hole of not having a baby, but I loved her.

A couple weeks later, we left for work and came home to find her missing. We searched all over the neighborhood and started knocking on all our neighbors doors. We found her in a neighbors home who stated that she got away. There was no way she would have gotten away, and our suspicion was that the neighbor took her.

Suzie has endured many moves and a rollercoaster life as ours has constantly changed. When Cade was born, she was then demoted to dog status. So sorry Suzie. We then moved to Santaquin, where there was no place for her to run or even move for that matter. My parents reluctantly, agreed to let her live at their place and that is where she has been ever since.

Over the last few years she has gained about 20 pounds and her health has continually deteriated. We decided this year that she would not make it through another winter, our plans were to put her to sleep before the harsh winter weather hit. I did not want to do this, it just did not feel right. I was seriously struggling with this decision and I am so grateful that I did not have to make it. Dad went out to check on Suzie yesterday and she had already passed away. Mom, told me that I have just experienced loosing my first baby, and even though she has not lived with us for many years I am very sad that things were not different. I loved her, but I am also very grateful that she does not have to suffer any more. There at the end she could hardly get around.

12 1/2 years later Suzie is at rest with Oscar in our family burial, behind the big pine tree. Goodbye Suzie, I love you.

Cade's Baptism

Today was a very special day for Cade. He chose to be baptised. The primary presidency interviewed Cade and asked him why he wanted to be baptised, his response was "I want to be able to stop lying". He also said he wanted to have the gift of the Holy Ghost to help him make good choices. We are so proud of Cade and happy that he has chosen to follow our heavenly father. Cade said his favorite part about his baptism was when he got the Holy Ghost and getting into the font.

After the baptism our families joined us for a small birthday party and lunch. Somehow we managed to squeeze everyone in our small house. Cade opened more presents and had a great time with his cousins. We are so lucky to have a wonderful, supportive family.

His favorite baptism gifts were a new set of scriptures and a letter and ring that was given to Cade from his birth mother.

The appropriate response!

To hide the scriptures I stuffed a towel in the box, Cade pulled out the towel and with an excited tone yelled, "A towel, I always wanted a towel". It was awesome.


What a cute family!

Cade is Eight!

We couldn't help but tease Cade a little on his eighth birthday. We brought out this one little present and told him this was all he was getting. He was ok, but definitely a little disappointed. After a little time we then gave him the rest of his presents. His favorite present was the book Diary of a Wimpy kid.

Craig was going to be out of town for Cade's actual birthday, so we decided to take Cade to Fat Cats on Saturday and celebrate. We played miniature golf, video games and bowled while eating pizza. Cade had a great time.

I just cannot believe that Cade is already eight. It feels like only yesterday he was placed into our arms. Our lives have been blessed since that cold October day eight years ago.
Aaron gave Cade tennis balls so he can play wall ball at school.

Bath Time

Aaron has always been a little sketchy about bath time. He hates to get his ears wet and definitely hates when Craig gives him a bath. Aaron has his little quirks, he has to have his piggies with him every time he bathes. Grandma gave him these cute little pigs, and as long as the piggies are close by, Aaron is happy. When it is time to get out of the bath tub, he very carefully places the piggies on the edge of the tub and then he is ready to get out.
